(SP12) Embellished Dreamy Toga Dress
Hi loves! It’s been a while since I’ve blogged here, but I certainly hope that the month of December is treating you well. :)
I’ve always loved December because well, it’s the end of the year (Christmas! New year! Feasting!), and also because Cocoquettes’ birthday falls on the 12th of December! Well, this year we turned 5 (just like a little toddler ;)), and we’re doing a freebie giveaway as always! The freebie giveaway is happening on our Facebook fan page right now, and you should look specifically for the Cocoquettes 5th Birthday FREEBIE Giveaway photo album to take part. :) I think the prizes up for grab this year are very attractive, so please do take part before we stop taking in entries this Friday!!
Now, on to the main point of this post! We’ll be launching a new design tomorrow, and before I show you behind-the-scenes pictures, let me tell you a little more about this dress! This design was inspired from a FCUK piece which we loved, and we liked how it was simple and elegant at the same time. The problem as with all embellished pieces though, is getting the embellishments right. Our supplier sent us some samples/pictures of embellishments, but unfortunately, they were all not satisfactory. :( (And unfortunately, or fortunately for our customers, we’re actually very picky and fussy most of the time, which I think might make our suppliers hate us sometimes haha. But it’s only because we just want to maintain high standards and give our customers the best!) SO. We went on a quest to find our OWN embellishments, and ended up ordering embellishments from elsewhere instead of getting the garment factory to do them for us. So yes, it was hard work getting this piece done so prettily, so I hope you girls will love it!
On to the pictures!

Arrival at our shoot location! (Cute wired reindeer, teehee.)

Look at the pretty embellishments! :) Oh and btw this colour is so gorgeous, it’s like a pinkish-taupe/sand/nude-ish kind of colour. But the flattering kind of nude-ish shade, not dirty nude which just looks bad. :(

Model chilling while our photographer sets up. :)

This is the other colour that the dress comes in - Periwinkle. Super gorgeous as well! I love both colours equally I can’t tell you which I prefer, but I think Periwinkle might be more suited for tan skin tones, while Puce (the nude shade) will be more suited for fairer skin tones. :)

We really liked the candy cane lamppost, so we made Angie take pictures with it!

Aaaaand it’s a wrap!
Here’s a special shoutout going out to our photographer and model for being awesome despite the very tiring shoot! Lala and I appreciate it very much. :)
I’ll see you girls at our launch tomorrow okay? :) It should probably be scheduled for 8pm, but I’ll confirm that again on Facebook and in our mailer which will be sent tomorrow.
