Hello girls!

I’m currently in Southampton, visiting my friend over the CNY weekend and having a short break since I’m having my reading week this week. :) It’s been awesome and she has been stuffing with me loads of nice food I can feel myself expanding already. :( Am waiting for her lesson to end so that we can go for dinner and salsa class after! :)

Was surfing some forums when I caught sight of a CCQ picture! And saw a couple of rather amusing comments on how our Elie Saab Pleated Cross-Over Chiffon Dress was really similar to a very popular dress that a very popular blogshop sold previously. Or is still selling…? I’m not too sure either. Well, the people that made the comments certainly didn’t imply that we copied the other blogshop’s designs, and I have no idea if they were implying that either. But if anyone was wondering (and has any inkling of what forum posts I’m referring to) - no, we quite obviously did not copy the design. I’m not sure how the designs were considered similar in the first place, because I think there are significantly visible differences! Furthermore, I think the other said popular blogshop launched the dress pretty recently? Okay I really have no idea about this, because I don’t really stalk their website. And if customers have the slightest idea how long the process of manufacturing one design is, they would know there’s no way we could’ve copied the design and produced it so quickly. Besides, I think the item name pretty much speaks for itself. :) Yes, the dress was not designed by us (and neither do we claim ownership over the design), but inspired by someone else. And that someone else is Elie Saab! If you would just google the said Elie Saab design, I think you’ll probably understand where our inspiration came from and realise that this design has absolutely no relation to that popular dress the popular blogshop sold/sells.

I’m not trying to be defensive… Or maybe I am. Hahaha. Afterall, CCQ is the product of Lala’s and my hard work, and is something really dear to us. But I guess I just don’t want others to read such comments and misunderstand us as copycats. Although the comments that were made did not directly imply copying on our part, but I do foresee the possibility of some readers jumping to such conclusions.

In any case, I hope everyone is having an awesome CNY! CNY away from home this year was a little different, but enjoyable nonetheless. :) Hopefully when I get back to school, the CNY cookies my sister sent me would have arrived already! :)

Shisi
