Clarification
Shisi sent me an email about the forum and the direct links to the comments made about the Elie Saab dress. I know she’s blogged about it below but I’ve decided to blog about it again to clarify some things.
We had already picked the designs to manufacture way before the other site launched their design. When they launched it, I did see it and I thought it looked a little similar at first. However, we had already submitted our order and if you take a closer look, the dresses are different in many ways. Actually, other than it being a cross-over style and a full-chiffon dress, the dress is really different. To name a few, the bottom part of our dress isn’t a flare skirt. It’s more of a flare-tapered skirt. For the top part, the straps have pleats and the cross-over design is made in a wave and the whole boob area is made out of pleats rather than two pleated cloths just draped across each other, over an actual dress (like in that blogshop). Our straps also start from the middle of the boob area rather than from the top of it. It’s actually really intricate and it took quite some time for our manufacturer to get it right. Furthermore, the boob part is structured and there’re paddings so that it’ll hold it’s shape.
Truth be told, I was really quite upset after reading the few comments on the forum. We put in a lot of effort into each piece and we’re still new to the clothing industry and so far, our pictures haven’t done our clothings justice but I do believe that for a new blogshop, our quality and designs are an excellent start. I guess everybody’s entitled to their own opinion.
So, just to clarify, we DID NOT and WILL NOT copy any designs from any blogshop. Firstly, it would be really stupid for us to copy another blogshop’s designs. Especially if it were a popular blogshop because we wouldn’t be able to sell off our pieces that way. Secondly, we wouldn’t want to ruin our reputation this way. We have painstakingly built a reputation for being creative and yet affordable in the past three years. We will by no means compromise this by copying designs off other blogshops. Thirdly, many blogshops do not design their own clothings. They get inspirations or purely copy designs off stores or famous designers. As such, it would be unfair to say we copied them if it so happens that their design was also copied from the same designer. Fourthly, as Shisi mentioned below, we did not design this dress. We copied the design from a famous designer - Elie Saab.
Here’s a picture of the original dress by Elie Saab and the sample that we originally obtained. It was exactly the same except it wasn’t a gown. We then decided to change the bottom part of the dress to a flare-tapered skirt instead of the original design.

As blogged about before, we wanted to make this dress in Nude and Teal and we did believe that we would receive these two colours. However, due to a mix-up at the factory and the whole CNY buzz, we received Fairy Grey and Teal instead. We loved the Nude and we were really disappointed to receive Grey instead. As such, we’re in the midst of discussing the finalized details with our supplier before opening a backorder for Nude and Teal.
We are thankful to those who have complimented this design and who have supported us all the way.
Hope this clarifies everything. But seriously, I don’t even see how this dress looks anything like the one sold on that blogshop. I myself bought that dress from that blogshop and it’s so different! Just because a dress is full-chiffon and the top part has a pleated design, it doesn’t mean it’s the same dress.

On another note, the past few days have been fun! Had two days worth of gambling and eating and it was awesome. But now the parties have ended and till Saturday, it’s gonna be rather boring. I was so tired the past few days but I managed to catch up on some sleep last night so that was a good thing. I find the more I sleep, the more I want to sleep though!
