C5 Self-Manufactured Review
Last week, I was surfing some forums on blogshop reviews and I decided to take pictures of our self-manufactured clothings from C5 too! It won’t really be an objective review since it’ll probably be a biased one but here’s my attempt :) And also, so you girls will be able to see the clothings in a more personal manner.
I forgot to switch on the light for the dressing area so the pictures are a little dark. But anyway, here it goes!

COMMENTS: Love the workmanship for the pleats. Our supplier said the factory took a long time to get it right but thankfully, they managed to in the end :) The inner lining for this dress is nude so the colour turns out to be more of a fairy grey colour instead of a dull grey. The padding at the boob area’s good too so you don’t have to wear a bra and there won’t be any visible bra lines! Also, the padding makes the boob area have this really nice structure so the pleats hold in place :) I wore this dress with nude heels to a wedding dinner.

COMMENTS: I love the colour of this dress. It’s a very rich bluish-green. It’s more blue than green I guess but it’s really pretty. Sorry it’s so crumpled! I kept a piece of every self-manufactured design & colour for myself and I didn’t have time to hang them up so I sort of just stuffed them all into my cupboard haha. The inner lining for this dress is teal in the same shade as the outer layer :) The colour is a lot richer in reality, I don’t know why but the pictures never do the clothings justice. We’ve sold all the in-stock pieces for this colour but we’re opening a backorder for Teal and Nude shortly so do join it when it’s up! The Nude is really sweet & gorgeous. So gorgeous that Shisi and I HAD to open a preorder for it because we originally ordered Nude and it turned out as Fairy Grey because of a mixup at the factory :( And we really want to keep a Nude piece each so we have to reorder it!

COMMENTS: I love the dress! Okay partly because I designed it. But the material is awesome :) And the detailing is fantastic as well. Usually, these bodycon dresses would just be pieces of cloth sewn together but this one has these lines and stuff such that it gives it a really nice tapered-cut effect. The material doesn’t hug and ride up as you walk and it’s thick yet stretchy, unlike the bodycon material that lots of blogshops use. The length sounds short (30.5”) but since it’s stretchy, it actually isn’t that short! Plus it doesn’t ride up. Wore this for my mum’s birthday dinner!

COMMENTS: You can see from the picture above that it’s got these extra lines that give it the tapered-cut effect :) Okay actually it’s not really an effect, it really is tapered really nicely! At the back too! I really like the maroon-based one because it’s brighter and more lively but the black-based one seems to sell better. Rui says that it’s because the maroon one doesn’t have so much contrast at the boob area. Actually, it was supposed to be maroon instead of grey at the boob area but the factory said we weren’t using enough grey so we had to change that to grey :( But I thought it turned out quite okay actually. I love this colour!

COMMENTS: Again, sorry for the crumpledness. I was actually quite happy with how this piece turned out. When we got the sample, the ruffles were quite ugly, the satin band was too thick and the v part of the top wasn’t low enough so it looked really awkward. But the stock turned out nicely :) Thankfully! I wore this piece out for some party that day and I loved it. It’s comfortable, the straps are adjustable (so it fits nicely - I hate it when the straps keep falling off) and the satin band isn’t smocked (which would’ve been quite ugly). We decided to make this piece in sizes rather than have the smocked satin band so it’d be a lot prettier :) We aren’t fans of smocked-backs and if we could, we wouldn’t want elasticized backs either. Unfortunately, we haven’t grown big enough to cater to lots of sizes without elasticized backs so that’s the best we can do for now! We’ve only got a few pieces left for each size in this colour so if you want it, grab it now!!

COMMENTS: Love the colour! We were thinking of doing the Elie Saab dress in this colour as well but it would’ve been too red for a dress. I think it’s just nice for a top :) And this is awesome for CNY! It’s not too in-your-face red and it’s not too dull, it’s really just nice. As for the fitting and the other comments, please read the comments I wrote for the Fairy Grey version :)
